Museum Digital Commission 2000
and is currently an artist-in-residence at Harvestworks
through which she is working on a music CD
in collaboration with composter Yoav Gal. She has been
showing her online and offline work
internationally. "World of Awe" has been included
in festivals in Brazil, France, England, Germany,
Netherlands, Israel and the USA.
World of Awe (WOA) is based on an original non-linear
narrative written in magical realism that uses
the ancient genre of the traveler's tale to explore the
connections between storytelling, memory &
technology.
A treasure hunt takes place in a desert terrain called
the Sunset/Sunrise, where the determination to
find the lost treasure meets nostalgia for speculated
technology and longing for a loved one left
behind. Treasure crumbs found in excavation sites, oddly,
resemble candy sprinkles. World of Awe
uncovers the journal of a traveler in search of a lost
treasure. The journal was found on a laptop. As
described in travel log 658/*4.2, the laptop was built
from old hardware and software found in Silicon
Canyon.
